William Wilson from Wyeside Consulting will speak at a seminar at King’s College London on 28 January 2020 on ‘Environmental Standards after Brexit”. The seminar will consider the countervailing political pressures, of high level commitments to maintaining high environmental standards, while at the same time promising to diverge from EU standards, and what this may mean for environmental standards on air, water and other regimes, including food and farming. It will look at the framework of the Environment Bill, the impact of devolution on environmental standards, and the relationship between environmental standards and trade negotiations, and the role of scientists in this imbroglio.
Many of these issues will also be addressed in Wyeside’s forthcoming Report on Environmental Laws after Brexit (see separate posting).
