William Wilson gave a Brexit Legislation briefing for the aerospace, defence and
space trade association A/D/S at its annual environmental meeting in Cambridge
on 25 January 2018.

The briefing covered the politics of Brexit (in one slide, with suitable
disclaimers), ‘regulatory alignment’, the main programme Brexit legislation,
what is likely to follow on from that, and a short appraisal of some key Bills.

These included the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill, the Trade Bill and the
Taxation (Cross-Border Trade) Bill. The briefing also covered significant customs
changes, other legislative aspects of significance to A/D/S member firms, the
implications of the EU REACH chemicals Regulation being placed in a Statutory
Instrument, revisions to international treaties, conventions and trade
agreements, implications for key EU institutions of relevance to A/D/S
industries, the importance of Devolution and post-Brexit legislation to be
expected – a busy half hour.
