William Wilson has been appointed Consultant Editor for the next revision of Halsbury’s Laws of England volumes on Water and Waterways, due to be published in 2018.

The appointment is recognition of his long experience working on water law and regulation, in government, private practice and consultancy, which includes legal management of key water statutes, contributing to the negotiation of the Water Framework Directive and advice to water companies and the water regulator.

The next revision of Halsbury’s water volumes will need to take account of major changes in the structure and management of the water industry, and significant legislative changes since the initial water privatisation in 1989 and its consolidation in 1991.
