Prime Minister Johnson, in his letter to Donald Tusk on 19 August 2016, said that –

“Although we will remain committed to world-class environment, product and labour standards, the laws and regulations to deliver them will potentially diverge from those of the EU…That is the point of our exit and our ability to enable this is central to our future democracy.”

We are seeking further information from government on the ways in which they anticipate that environmental laws, regulations and standards in the UK will diverge from those in the EU, and expect to issue updates on this if and when we receive further information.
