The Future of Learning: EdTech and Data Protection Law
As education moves online what laws do we need to keep children safe?
This webinar comes at a crucial time; as the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a surge in interest in educational technologies it has also exposed concerns about whether ‘EdTech’ is safe for children and whether the laws that protect children’s privacy and data are fit for purpose. This webinar is designed to inform educators, lawyers, policymakers and researchers around the world who are grappling with how to use EdTech to keep children learning in a safe way. It will cover the growing use of EdTech, current trends in privacy and data laws, the big issues of responsible data use in EdTech, and how best to regulate its use - particularly in lower income countries. It will provide a deeper understanding of an increasingly urgent global issue, including practical legal and policy knowledge, to educational leaders working to keep children safe in an online world.
