LAUNCH OF PAKISTAN CLIMATE FELLOWS RESEARCH REPORTS AT OXFORD

On 2 December 2024 at the Oxford Climate Society our climate website The Borrowed Earth Project was proud to launch two highly original reports by its Pakistan Research Fellows.

Nouman Alam researched the response to climate change and flooding of farmers and teachers in his home area of Lakki Marwat and Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkwa.

Maria Samiwala researched and reported on the mismanagement of waste in the megacity of Karachi, Sindh, where that is breaking down, and some ways in which it might be remedied.

At a time when global climate leadership on climate change is in short supply, and even going into reverse, it is all the more encouraging to see the appreciation and encouragement by students and professors in the UK for the innovation and hard work of talented young climate champions in Pakistan.
